It takes approx. 4 minutes to read this article

Hair oiling is one of the most popular hair treatments. You can do it yourself at home. The sleek look keeps gaining popularity because it is elegant, slimming, and sexy

What is oiling?

At first, it is worth explaining what oiling your hair is all about. In practice, oil is simply applied throughout the hair. In practice, oil is simply applied throughout the hair, from the ends to the scalp. As it turns out, this method was chosen by women hundreds or even thousands of years ago. It was used especially by ancient Egyptian women who wanted to protect their hair from the sun’s harmful rays. The method has survived to this day, although the means necessary to do so have changed, the goal has remained the same. The purpose of oiling the hair is to replenish the hair’s cuticles, restore its elasticity and healthy look and protect it from the sun.

You may wonder why oils? The answer is very simple. Oils are rich in minerals, vitamins, phytosterols and unsaturated fatty acids – everything your hair needs! These substances penetrate deep into the hair, oxygenate the cells and create a protective barrier for hair and roots, which are exposed to the harmful effects of radiation, air pollution and strong wind.

Substance breakdown – choose wisely

  • Oils are a basic group of products known to mankind for centuries. It is used both for food and beauty care. Oils can be defined as substances which in their composition have nothing but a given oil, such as linseed oil or recently popular avocado oil. You can opt for cold-pressed oil, which retains a number of its properties, or refined oil. The nutrients in the latter case, are no longer as rich, but this type of oil has a longer shelf life.
  • Oils – another group of products. Here we are dealing with a mixture of oils with various other substances such as flower or plant extracts. Often synthetic additives are also used, which are better not to choose. Hair oils will, logically, work somewhat less well than oils, but they do smell beautifully.

The last group is solutions, which actually have nothing to do with oils. Manufacturers praise them in advertisements and tempt with beautiful packaging, but that is all. In their composition they have a negligible amount of oils, the rest is, among others, silk and silicone. These solutions are effective, however, they have limited effect. They protect hair from damage but do not regenerate it in any way.

The Benefits of Choosing Hair Oil

Regularly rubbing oil into your hair has many benefits. The most important thing is to choose a high-quality substance without additives. Another very important point is to perform this procedure regularly. All this will leave your hair smooth, supple, elastic and really well hydrated. Check out what else oiling your hair regularly has to offer:

  • it protects hair from the harmful effects of external factors (pollution, wind),
  • it makes brushing hair significantly easier,
  • it regenerates hair and makes it look beautiful,
  • regulates the secretion of sebum, which makes hair greasy,
  • prevents hair loss,
  • strengthens hair bulbs and accelerates hair growth
  • soothes inflammations and irritations,
  • is an effective solution in the fight against dandruff,
  • it protects hair ends from so unpopular split ends,
  • gives your hair beautiful shine and brightness due to elasticity.

All these effects can be achieved with regular use of oil. All right, but what’s the best way to do it? The first substance to consider because of the opinion of other women is linseed oil. According to many, this is the best possible choice. Sesame oil, mustard oil, SESA oil and avocado oil are also effective. The choice is yours!
